For the past 17 years, Graver Weir has operated as a livery yard, but in May 2024, we proudly expanded to include a riding school. At Graver Weir Equestrian Centre, we are committed to offering an exceptional riding experience for riders of all ages and abilities. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced rider, our dedicated instructors provide personalised lessons designed to build confidence, improve skills, and foster a strong connection with horses. With a friendly atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and a genuine passion for equestrian excellence, we invite you to begin your riding journey with us and experience the joy of horse riding in this stunning countryside setting.
Book HereAt Graver Weir, we aim to make the joy of horses accessible to everyone. Whether you’re looking for a few hours of horsey fun each week, pursuing a career in the equine industry, or dreaming of owning your own horse one day, we’re here to support and encourage you every step of the way.
Our Tiny Tots sessions are all about fun, building confidence, and developing balance, control, and rhythm from the very beginning. Through engaging games and activities, young riders enjoy a playful introduction to the world of horses.
Suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced riders, our group lessons are tailored to ensure all riders progress in a supportive and social environment.
Available for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced riders, private lessons are a great way to focus on individual goals.
Designed for children aged five and older, Pony Club sessions last two hours and include a riding lesson, stable and yard management training, and hands-on experience helping with the ponies. Members can work toward earning badges and awards while building friendships and skills.
Our Young Handlers programme is for senior children who have demonstrated advanced horse care and knowledge. Invited participants are assigned a pony to care for during their time at the yard, giving them a taste of pony ownership while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the equestrian world.
We host a variety of clinics and experiences for our clients to explore different equestrian disciplines. These include pole work and jumping clinics, dressage clinics, hacks over the local bridle paths and moors (1-2 hours), and much more.
Before booking any lessons, all riders need to register on our ECPro system. This easy-to-use booking portal allows you to book and manage your lessons, complete necessary forms, and stay up to date with everything happening at the centre.
As a first step, all new riders must book an assessment lesson. This helps us match you with the right pony and place you in the correct group for your ability. Once registered on ECPro, available assessment lessons will be ready for you to book.
If you have any questions or need help with the booking process, feel free to get in touch – we’re happy to help!
